Scilla Owusu, Music Video Director, Producer and Founder of Youngtrepreneurs

It all started in the summer of 2015, after Owusu graduated from college with a business studies degree in London and she felt lost and did not know what her life’s purpose was.Putting pen to paper, Scilla eventually found her passion in screenwriting which led her to launch her first six-part series titled “A Lesson Learnt” that she wrote and produced, which was eventually awarded best web series ensemble at the prestigious Screen Nation Film & Television Awards in 2016.After graduating college in 2015 with a degree in business studies, Scilla took a gap year and dived straight into the music video industry. Starting as a production assistant to production manager then eventually as a producer for a few years. “Being in such a male-dominated industry as a music video producer, especially a young black female video producer, felt like being black twice because I had to work twice as hard to prove I was worthy of being in the room, despite my great talents,” Scilla Owusu reiterates. She has since worked professionally with some of Africa’s most renowned artist on their music videos. Featuring the likes of Wande Coal, Fuse ODG, Burna Boy, Patoranking, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Mr Eazi, Davido, and many more
